Deep seating wicker and rattan furniture are built with thick, comfortable seats and back cushions. The furniture is usually considered the luxury model compared to standard wicker and rattan designs that don’t usually require cushions.
Deep seating wicker/rattan furniture is designed for comfort, so five or six-inch thick seat and back cushions are used. Additional comfort is gained when the furniture designer uses suspension seat straps rather than slats under the cushions for a softer bottom feel. This furniture type is available in indoor natural wicker and resin wicker designs.
Some styles use foam cushions for both the seat and the back. However, today, the most popular deep seating wicker and rattan furniture designs use high-density or medium foam seat cushions and a thick pillow style or tufted style back cushions, which are liberally stuffed with pure spun polyester at least six inches thick for the ultimate luxury seating.
You can choose your purchase wisely. Quality indoor/outdoor wicker or rattan furniture will last for many years. However, when it comes time for you to replace the cushions, make sure your dealer will handle your request years or that you know where you can obtain replacement cushions in the future. Obtaining replacement cushions for your wicker furniture can be expensive.
